“This had been the longest winning streak for gold since 1980 as far as consecutive up days." & $1600 price was an all time high & also being a round figure has some psychological pressures..
Couple of dollar of volatility is natural when there are several variables...
One has to look at the big picture, & ignore these minor price movements..

In any bull market: One has to buy & Sit tight to make windfall gains..
Here in Gold its more about protecting the purchasing power of money.... specially at a time when several countries are on the verge of default (default is the technical term, for what commonly is called as bankruptcy).. http://www.gordontlong.com/2010/Tipping_Points-2010-Home_Page/03-10-09-Vicious%20Cycle-2.GIF

More important is "the Dow Jones broke down Monday to less than 7.8 ounces of gold, that’s the first time it has been below 8 ounces in this entire 11 yr bull market". So the Dow is even lower today in terms of gold than it was in March of 2009 when the Dow Jones index was at 6,500. In other words, Gold has appreciated more than Dow Jones inspite of the massive rally from March 2009.

That shows you how much real value is being lost nominally even as the market goes up.

Can you suggest a silver ETF that has allocated accounts for Silver ?
Similar to CGL for gold ??
Is HUZ good ?

'SVR' from Claymore..... same group that offer CGL for Gold

PSLV (at NYSE) or PHS.U (at TSX) from Sprott ..... (USD denominated)

Ash probably can suggest more options....
