Any good events or flag hoisting celebrations to mark India's 63rd independence day in Toronto? I was expecting the Indian consulate to have something but their website does not show anything?

Thanks ashedfc for the info. It is a bit strange that the event is not on Aug 15 (esp given that Pakistan observes its independence day on the 14th).

Last week i was at indian consulate in toronto. I was in that epic waiting queue. Well nothing better to do, i remembered aug 15th is approaching. I wondered if indian consulate has any plans and started to look for any celebration plans. I noticed a little colored information sheet on one of the doors. I started reading and was shocked to see Aug 14th celebration and started wondering that the meaning of independence day is lost in this fast age ... still wondering ... aug 15th is sunday ... so the weekend excuse does not apply
