Hi Everyone,
I just moved to toronto this year(Jan 2013) and my husband and i are looking for places where people celebrate Diwali out here? Is there any place where maybe people burn fire crackers or any other such celebrations for diwali?
Any information will be very nice and helpful!
Thanks!
City of Brampton permits the firework in public parks on Diwali day - check out their web site. You can also visit any Diwali Mela type of events - check out the local Desi newspapers for such events. I am only aware of one going to organize at Red Rose Convention Center on Oct 25th in Mississauga. Call them to get the details.

A Delhite in Toronto
I think you should check out the website of BAPS Swami Narayan Temple ...They have a stupendous firework display on Diwali ... on the same lines as the ones on Canada Day .
On the same note I was wondering if some one on the forum can advise of a place where you can safely park your car and still view the fireworks un obstructed from with in your car .
We had been to Ram Temple Mississauga some years back and there were fireworks being done by desis ... I assume most of the temples might permit this provided it is done safely & with adult supervision.
