Anna have just won the first round of war. The battle is still on. If Anna’s recommendation are accepted. The LOKPAL Will be super Govt that can make resign anyone from PM to Supreme Court judge. I doubt that is a good thing .
Anna & his supporters seems politically immature to ask for such a powerful lokpal bill.

infocan
At last Government agreed to Anna's demands. Can someone share important points from final draft of the bill agreed yesterday? Busy this weekend. Otherwise I would have done google for reliable info.
If legislations can prevent corruption, no country would have it. While Anna’s fight is legitimate and appropriate, the solution that he is seeking may not be. He wants Lokpal to have very vast powers. What is the guarantee that the Lokpal would not be like our “Honest” PM Manmohan? Corruption in India is the sum result of judicial apathy, political corruption, bureaucratic red tape, soul selling media, soul selling and corrupt judges like ex CJI and defeatist attitude of people in India who would like to fleece the palms rather than fight injustice.
One more point. While I have great respect for Anna and have complete faith in his integrity, people like Agnivesh around him make me worry. Agnivesh is a Communist moron who has long back sold his soul to Chinese and Naxalite.
However, Anna’s victory has proved that all hope is not lost in India. It has established that a leader with real moral authority can still arouse the masses (Not Manmohan type pseudo honest). It has given a stinging slap to MMS and make him acknowledge that he is a very weak leader and that he has absolutely failed to instill a sense of moral honesty in himself.
Last such mass movement was at the time of Jayprakash Narayan (JP) immediately after the end of emergency. However, India was again unfortunate as he died soon after. That movement also threw up garbage like Laloo and Mulayam. Hope Anna’s movement does not bring Agnivesh or Medha or Arundhati to the prominent role.
I am stymied at the propensity of Indian people to consistently elect corrupt and in many cases unpatriotic people like Manmohan, Sharad Pawar, Laloo, Sonia,, Paswan and many others from Kangress and reject honest and efficient people like Narendra Modi.
Time would only tell whether the revolution succeeds. It would be interesting to note that Narendra Modi, while being interviewed by NDTV , told that he has curbed the corruption and given a very clean and efficient administration using the same laws and constitution and if there is a will and integrity, a leader can change the face of the country. There is no need of any additional law. Hope moron middle class in India, instead of being engrossed in IPL and Bollywood and blindly following English Language Media , for once uses their brains and throw anti Indian Kangress out of power.
Though I am optimistic abt the passage of the bill, I am not sure if it will achieve the goal. My concern is the health of Anna, more specifically his life. What CONgress did to JP, they may try to do the same to Anna. He is a smart man, he knows what CONgress is up to. India needed someone like him to mobilize people for an important cause. Patriots and no-nonsense people like Kiran Bedi have jumped into Anna bandwagon. Hope the momentum continues.

1. Who is Anna Hazare?
An ex-army man. Fought 1965 Indo-Pak War
2. What's so special about him?
He built a village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahamad Nagar district, Maharashtra
3. So what?
This village is a self-sustained model village. Energy is produced in the village itself from solar power, biofuel and wind mills.
In 1975, it used to be a poverty clad village. Now it is one of the richest village in India. It has become a model for self-sustained, eco-friendly & harmonic village.
4. Ok,...?
This guy, Anna Hazare was awarded Padma Bhushan and is a known figure for his social activities.
5. Really, what is he fighting for?
He is supporting a cause, the amendment of a law to curb corruption in India.
6. How that can be possible?
He is advocating for a Bil, The Lok Pal Bill (The Citizen Ombudsman Bill), that will form an autonomous authority who will make politicians (ministers), beurocrats (IAS/IPS) accountable for their deeds.
8. It's an entirely new thing right..?
In 1972, the bill was proposed by then Law minister Mr. Shanti Bhushan. Since then it has been neglected by the politicians and some are trying to change the bill to suit thier theft (corruption).
7. Oh.. He is going on a hunger strike for that whole thing of passing a Bill ! How can that be possible in such a short span of time?
The first thing he is asking for is: the government should come forward and announce that the bill is going to be passed.
Next, they make a joint committee to DRAFT the LOK PAL BILL. 50% goverment participation and 50% public participation. Because you cant trust the government entirely for making such a bill which does not suit them.
8. Fine, What will happen when this bill is passed?
A LokPal will be appointed at the centre. He will have an autonomous charge, say like the Election Commission of India. In each and every state, Lokayukta will be appointed. The job is to bring all alleged party to trial in case of corruptions within 1 year. Within 2 years, the guilty will be punished. Not like, Bofors scam or Bhopal Gas Tragedy case, that has been going for last 25 years without any result.
9. Is he alone? Whoelse is there in the fight with Anna Hazare?
Baba Ramdev, Ex. IPS Kiran Bedi, Social Activist Swami Agnivesh, RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal and many more.
Prominent personalities like Aamir Khan is supporting his cause.
10. Ok, got it. What can I do?
At least we can spread the message. How?
Putting status message, links, video, changing profile pics.
At least we can support Anna Hazare and the cause for uprooting corruption from India.
At least we can hope that his Hunger Strike does not go in vain.
At least we can pray for his good health.

A Proud Indian Canadian
I had pointed out earlier about the shady characters like Agnivesh and Patkar as also regarding danger of Lokpal might turn out to be like MMS.
Here is the interesting article on gaffe of Hazare.

Hysteria will not end corruption
As I have watched mass hysteria build up over Anna Hazare’s fast, there have been moments when I felt that his supporters had forgotten that India is a democratic country. I have long believed that the most apolitical Indians are those who belong to the English speaking, tweeting, texting middle classes but I had no idea just how apolitical they were till last week. Without reading the Jan Lokpal bill that Anna Hazare is trying to ram down our throats, actors, writers, social activists, television anchors and sundry other supposedly educated Indians leapt on to Anna’s bandwagon.
