Is there anything better then Money2India to send money back home ,as of today Money2 India has rate of 45.45 where as XE .com says 46.47 (have never used this site) If any body can share there experience will be great ,no Hawala etc. Does it make any diffrence if you walk into ICICI local Branch here..?
I attempted to use money2india to send money from my business account to someone in india.
This was 2.5 months ago.
My cheque was cashed and after that i was told that money cannot be given to the recipient because ,
1> the check did not have senders name (it was a starter cheque)
2> Sending money to india via business account is not possible with their service
Ever since i have been waiting for a refund.
After over 50 emails with escalations going to head of nri in india and also head of QA in canada , they agreed to send refund cheque.
last week i got a email saying the courier returned the post because address is not complete.
Guess what it is the same address that i receive all my mail on and also the tracking number provided to me was returning invalid on the courier website.
I have asked the cheque be mailed to the local canada icici branch.. and i continue to wait for the refund..
Moral of story
1> Money2india service is not very well organized.
2>The call center people have no direct access to the processing team , so everthing takes weeks to resolve..
3> All ur dealings in case of complications are through email and every reply takes 3 to 5 biz days.
Someone in the banking profession told me Western union provides best rates..

Just used UAEExchange to send ~5000$ money to india.. exhange rate was 30 paise off the interbank rate.. better than any other money trasnfer service i have seen..
they say 24 to 48 hrs but was completed in 12 hrs
Sent money in the evening.. money was in recipients account in the morning
Cant be happy after all the trouble icici money to india service gave me... and with the higher rate i got 4000 rs extra compared to the earlier rate icici bank was giving me..
