Few months ago, there was a news on Omni TV that a couple got cheated of a huge amount by Hawala dealer. For a couple of rupees more per dollar, it does come with its risks.

Why don't you guys try Western Union..that gives good rate and that would remain white money as well... though there would be some charges for tranfer but it's pretty quick..Money is available in couple of hrs and at max next day...!

Hawala and crap stuff. i wudnt reco anyone to do that and get into a Risk,

i personally use western union or ICICI bank for money transfer
for western union its a fee of 16- 20 bucks.
with icici its free if u have an account that is nre savings and u have a beneficiary in india. if u send icici canada a cheque its free and in 5-6 busines days your beneficiary has money in their account.

the rates with both are also good. well over 40.
