Opting for liability of 200K is quite risky. The 3rd party claims, mostly for personal injuries can easily touch a million (thanks to the team efforts of personal injury paralegals/advocates/physiotherapists etc who try to bloat the claim as much as possible for their 25 to 50% cut). I personally think that 200K is risky considering the small difference in premium.
Do you know that around 90% of the auto insurance premium goes towards 3rd party claims and most of them are either fictitious or bloated by the above professionals.

Yes. Limit is 200k , you can find it everywhere in net. I was informed for it by Insurence provider. I also agree that most of the claims are inflated .

I have personally messed with Corporations like ICBC (BC biggest Insurance co) when there was a claim, Insurance premiums negotiations and have always won in my favor as I do my homework first to make them loose but then they recover the profit from the rest of the 99.9% of the people.
Can you please elaborate ?
I am looking for ways to reduce auto insurance rates.
Originally I was paying 337/month to Scotia in 2011. This year I took the membership of CPAC and based on that I am paying 271/month for minimal mandatory coverage on Corolla 2000 to TD.

Hi seenimesh,
Read this post which I posted some time back (http://www.canadiandesi.com/read.php?TID=33446) . If you follow the steps what I said in that post I bet you no one can stop you to reduce your insurance. Let me know how it goes

Generally each province has to provide discount for new comers / experienced drivers .
Just talk to the manager of your broker. I repeat..manager or department head of the broker. (I feel that some brokers are not so intelligent and customer caring people..they just care about premium money and don't even know the laws.) If things don't work out try to reach some senior manager of your auto insurance. If he doesn't respond to you just reach to an expert on Insurance bureau of Canada and tell them that your Insurance company is not ready to provide you discount based on claim history. And I believe in Ontario you can shop around for insurance. Just shop around and see who can get you the deal.
But remember if you want to go ahead with Gandhigiri you need to have evidence of your claim history record.
Remember, you have a right to ask for discount.
