I hit my neighbor's car last night while reversing my car. It made small dent on my neighbor's car. Now he wants me to pay for fix it. Or he will go to police complain and insurence claim.

I have 2 options. (1) I will pay around $ 500.00 for dent and re painting. Or (2) Go by insurence and my insurence company will pay for it.

If I go for second option, will I get ticket or demerit point. As well as will it effect on my driving record as at fault accident. Will it also effect on my insurence preium on renewal.

look at it another way. It was *your* fault. You can make the choice to be a decent human being and accept your error, pay the guy's repair cost and KEEP A GOOD relationship with your neighbor. Never burn your bridges.

Neighbours are invaluable when they have a good relationship. People watch out for each other and generally it makes life more pleasant.

$500 ISNT much when you realize that its your fault, you can take the high road here.
