Hi,

I am seeking some advice from fellow CD's.

Right now in my existing policy i am a Principal Driver and my Wife is a Occasionally driver. she just got G2 license on 11th Feb.

today i called my insurance company and update in their file about my wife's License. before i had an one accident (at my fault) so right now i am paying $295/month for both of us.I asked insurance company and they told me due to my accident our premium is high.

I asked the lady and she told me if i put a Principal driver as my wife and occationally driver as me will make diffrent in premium every month around $20 (apx $250/year) with same coverage.

will it make any different if i go whatever insurance company said or any gimmick?? why i am asking this questions b'cos everyone knows here in this country that insurance company all the time wants make money from you.

Please share your views.

thanks in advance.

I do not think they are playing any game with you. Save $250/yr. All their gimmiks starts when there is an accident.

You or your wife as a principle driver doesnt make any difference. Sometimes (I guess - by mistake) they help their customers. I was benefited by they for $333/yr while i put my insurance on hold

No, they are right. As you have one accident & you become a occassional driver , your insurence will go down. However, if you purchase another car in your household, your wife can not become principal driver for that car. For the other car, you will have to become principal driver. for one car, wht they are suggesting is right & benefitial to you.
