I am looking for Accomodation for my Daughter in Calgary Down town. She will be living in Calgary for 16 Month doing Internship with some Company.Her office will be in Down town. However, she can travel in Car/Transit every day. I am looking for decent accomodation ( No Sharing?basement /Rooms Etc) . What will be the rent per month. We are looking for decent & safe area prefereably to near India Grocery ( Not Necessary). People from Calgary please comment.

Driller the thriller

Calgary is like 4 big blocks with downtown in the centre. So, downtown is accessible easily from any part of the city, especially by ctrain it takes about 20 minutes from any block. See this link http://www.calgaryarea.com/ to get an idea asbout Calgary areas.

If you stay close to ctrain station, commuting may not be an issue. There are several rental places around downtown and unfurnished single br may be around $1k /month onwards. Most of the grocery is in the NE block but with a car, that should not be any problem and other blocks also have some indian groceries.
Landlords may ask for credit and reference checks and you need to look into this as well. http://www.rentfaster.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK and Kijjiji are your best options. You may also consider Dalhousie in NW and Somerset in SW communities as there are several rental apartments.

Thanks for detailed information. What will be the cost of Buying a 2000 Sq feet detached house ( Around 5-10 years Old ) in Dalhosie /somerset?
