Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for how to choose a neighbourhood in Canada?

I'm moving to Toronto and don't know much about the city - I want to find a good area for my family and I.

If anyone knows of a good website or method of selection that would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Please see if it is suitable to your liking. Play with the website and see for your self.

The first few days of landing, will be tiring and not knowing the locale, you will find everything new and amusing.

But these are the Happy Days. Enjoy them. Initially spend a day or two in any PG facility. If you have an idea about the jobs and where it is that they are located, then choose one or TWO BR apartment close by. The job location could be nearer to the PG facility also as you will find it easy to meet with them.

Then, after you find a suitable post, find a location that will satisfy all of the priorities that you have attached to the that area. First priority will be SCHOOLS. The rest are secondary, such as groceries, transportation etc., Until such time you get a job, take a good place that you can rent by the month, without a lease. There will be only a few who would rent without a lease. It might be slightly expensive also.

Even after you find a job, commute from the place you live till you get to know the GTA area if it is TORONTO, or the town you are moving into. Post your queries at that time here with all of the details you want us to know to give you a litle more detailed help at that time in the future.

FH.

Also use Google Street view to explore anytime you want. There is a stickman to provide you the pictorials. fh
