I recently moved to Toronto and really had no idea what neighbourhood to choose - I was afraid to end up in an area that wasn't right for my kids, and didn't have a lot of time to figure it out.
I found this website called "Navut" that suggests neighbourhoods in your city that are best for YOU! They take your personal info (budget, schools, transportation, amenities,etc..) and then suggest where you should live! You can look at profiles for each area, it's really helpful and my wife really liked using it.
The best part is that it's FREE and EASY. If you're feeling confused about your new city I would recommend this tool.

The first time I tried it said that it was in BETA Format . Today it seems to be working for GTA area. See if it is suitable to your liking.
