Hello Friends

I landed for good finally, Last few days(5-6) I spend moving around in the city by hopping on and off at every station and walking around in the neighbourhood of the subway station area, ofcourse its tiring but worth the time spend and having a glance on the corners and walk of life of people in the area

I am looking around for a Jr.1 BR or 1BR rental apartment in the following area, these locations are considered on the basis of the fact that public transit is easy and well connected to other areas of the city. Mainly looking in the mid downtown area, however I would like your opinion about the safety in these area if you are aware of and any other pros and cons and any thing I need to consider in special.

Dufferin (Nr and sorrounding Dufferin Mall)
St Clair West(Oakwood ave and nearby)
Dupont
Spadina and nearby
Sherbourne
Castle Frank
Parliament & Wellesley (Cabbage Town area)
Broadview (Hogarth ave and nearby)
Danforth and Gerrard St
Mainstreet

All the above mentioned near by to subway / TTC accecibility is what is considered.

PEACE ALWAYS

Try Princess Apartments, 10-40 Teesdale Place. 2 minutes walk to Victoria Park TTC subway station.

Lot of immigrant community there. Jr. 1 bed is in range of 800 dollars....

No problem. You could also look at Davisville on the University line, I know some folks there have decent digs. Finch/Yonge may be farther for your indicated interest, but again decent digs in decent budget.

If you walk along some of the inner lanes close to Spadina or St.George, such as Lowther, this is the time you will see lots of houses advertizing apartments, as students are moving out/in between semesters.

One other thing you can do is just drop by the University Housing office at University of toronto downtown campus. At this time, you will see ads for vacant housing/rooms.

Good luck.

Thanks , i will look out on Davisville too, yes, Finch/Yonge is out of the area from what we are looking for. Spadina and St George I think it should be good, as we liked those places. I need to have safety, thats the main criteria , we are young couple(straight) , no kids, no pets, no smoke. Driving own car will take some time, may be after winter or next summer starting, so commutation is also priority, which is good in these places (TTC)
