Hi, I have question, I am citizen of canada, I want to call my parents to help for my wife's pregnancy, as due date is in october. I checked the required documents list and found out that last year's notice of assessment is required for that, Last year i was not having job so as per the NOA my income is zero.but Now I am working full time with annual salary around $ 80k, My parents don't have any liablility in india as they are retired a while ago, they don't have much bank balance to show except our house where they are living and pension income. Travel agent is recommending not to apply for visitor visa as per our situation.
I want to confirm with Immigration expert is it true that there are no any chances to get visitor visa in this case even with the letter for pregnancy from doctor's office as well or atleaset get the visitor visa for my mother only as we really need their help in this condition.
Thanks and appriciate any early response as I am in rush to take decision.
For one DO NOT attach / show pregnancy in your Visa application .. You would lose it as the Visa Officer will see this as a potential loss of job for a Canadian care giver / nanny.
I would suggest not to go through a Travel Agent but apply for it personally .. If you are having an $80 K job and no liabilities , you can show that .
Your parents can get a letter from a CA showing the valuation of the house along with their pensions and other Bank Balance or investments they might be having .
Both of you ( you and your parents ) can send notarized document ( invitation letter) and affidavit from them , mentioning that they would not over stay their visit and that you would provide for all their expenses ...
Rest leave it on luck .... Visit Visa is a lottery some times although a properly documented application is seldom refused .

for visitor visa it's not mandatory to have the NOA but if you are applying for super visa you have to wait for your NOA.
I was in a same situation last year when I invited my mother-in -law on visitor visa I didn't had the NOA.But I made my application strong by providing the following documents
1) Offer letter and latest pay slips from my employer.Bank statement showing some funds to take care of her ( this is not mandatory for visitor)
2)Invitation letter(mention the visitor will leave the country what ever the time lines mentioned in the invitation letter and no intention to stay in Canada) also mentioned that I will bear all her expenses.
3)letter from family doctor stating that she will need help from her parents/relatives.
4) Notarized letter from my MIL stating that she has no intention to stay back in Canada and showed some proofs(bank statement, property) and family ties.
6) employment letter of father in law.
5)Insurance coverage (not mandatory but it helps).
rest of all documents mentioned in visa application.
Again it all depends on VISA officer who scrutinizes your application.but make sure your application is strong with all supporting documents.
My MIL got her single entry visa and this May my mother got her super visa after I had my NOA for 2013. don't go for any travel agent it's waste of money in my opinion just follow the guidelines from CIC.
Hope this helps...let me know if you still have any questions.
Pregnancy itself it not strong enough a reason to invite parents or relatives (in the eyes of immigration officer). So make sure all financial documents are complete and show assets both here on your side and back in India on your parents side. Basically what all documents you can show to prove that they will go back to India and not become burden on Canadian economy will be helpful.

And if your visa gets rejected, keep on applying as it will very well pass in the second time or the third time. Each time, it will go to a different visa officer who will have a different mindset. It is almost like a lottery.
All the best.
