Lady did not accept our application because in the application I did not mentioned that my son (13 Yrs) is "UNMARRIED" or "SINGLE"... ya..ya.. she is right that 13 yrs old kid can get married...."How stupid was". we waited more than three hours and because of this mistake she did not accept our application. ...great..

She told me that you have to come back again with new application....went home update in old file by editing as a "UNMARRIED" or "SINGLE"... submitted all the documents.

***side note, when I filled up online application that time old data automatically pulled up by previous file and not allowing me to update in new application....all other documents was ok and nothing was missing in the application***

I called BLS office waited more than 20 minutes on the phone finally someone answered and told me that select two options when you fill up the form and edit old information and print it out new form....

submission time I asked her and she told me that it is compulsory that up to 20 years of age every time I have to put a new sticker on new passport....I am not sure how far she is right?

as per her, we are going to receive our original documents after one week than I have to wait until online status change at CGI website shows documents received and acknowledged...than go again to submit original Canadian passport for OCI sticker stamping and wait for another one and half month for collect passport at BLS office.

Hope that we are going to get our passport back before 26th June as my son is going to travel India...

RBO: When you applied for your son's OCI, did they ask you for a notarized marriage certificate?

When I called BLS to inquire about changing my daughter's PIO to OCI, they told me I need a notarized marriage certificate with photo on it.

Here is a small write up from one of the travelers who landed there two weeks ago. It is from my personal mail.

"""Me and spouse have OCI but my kid has a PIO card which expires next year.

Visited B'lore 2 weeks ago. At the airport, the Immigration Officer asked us to take her PIO to his supervisor. The supervisor stamped "No expiry" on the PIO card and said the PIO card is good for life.

DATE AND TIME OF MY RECEIPT IS.,
04-16-2015, 08:04 PM"""

It might help a few who are looking for such information.

I had a friend who was unmarried when he applied for OCI at Brampton. His application was perfect and each and every document according to the checklist was there in his application.

When he went there, they told him , you are unmarried , prove to us that you are unmarried !

what ?? They told him to go to a lawyer and bring an affidavit saying that you are single and unmarried !! ..no one in the checklist it was mentioned that you have to bring an affidavit, stating you are single . I can understand they wanting a marriage certificate, if you are married..and now they also want you to prove to them, you are Single !!

Complete waste of time, these fools at BLS and VFS !

New innovation by BLS, like marriage certificate get certificate you are single. Why only married people have to be harassed, it is unfair.

at least good that BLS ask to provide only that "you are single and not married."

Good they did not ask to prove it that "you are Virgin too..."

Good that they did not ask that "Do you have any kids" or "any plan to go for marry very soon..."

Yup ..these guys are just courier guys and postman and on TOP of it they have so much attitude.

Imagine their attitude if they were actually the Embassy guys !

Last time , I was at BLS ..one of the ugly ladies ( employee ) across the counter was shouting and yelling at some other lady ( customer ) and was giving her lot of attitude. Everyone , including me was shocked at her behaviour.

They know NO one can touch them & can get away with anything..lol ..& won't be held accountable & responsible for their actions.

I have NEVER seen more miserable people working anywhere..heck even the people working in McDonalds & Wal Mart seem happier than them..ha ha.
