Hello SKALI610,
I need your advise/help. My wife is Graduating in December from George Brown College ( HR Major). She will be initiating her Job search soon. Can you advise few agencies / firms or Contacts that would help her to get the job faster. As a fresher, she is also willing to work without pay to get some initial field experience.

You need to take certain courses to write the CHRP Exams and it is not a license such as you need in the profession of Nursing or if you want to be a Physician etc. A lot of the organizations prefer you have the CHRP designation. CHRP is only a designation. First you write the exam and then get 3 + years exprience in HR to be fully certified.
If you are coming to Canada for the first time, It might be really hard to get your first job in HR. However, within HR you can move your career in many differnt directions. For example Benefits, Human Resources Information Systems, Recruitment, Pension Administrator, Trainer, Occupational health and Safety and much much more.

I am a HR professional too. I was looking at the site you mentioned for certification and looks like this can be done only once in Canada. am I right? I am currently in US and would like to get certified before I land. From my understanding that is not possible.
Will the PHR certification work in canada? What about without certification? Is is easy to get entry level in HR then? How long did you take to find a job in HR?
I have so many questions...I have just started off in HR feild after a Masters in HR ....Will appreciate any advice from your end. Thanks
