Another way to earn some money is to bring text books from India. Every year a U of T engineering student spends on an average $3000 on text books. Same text books are published in India and are available very cheap (about $500). One can buy these books over the net but many students are not comfortable buying something from India over the internet.
May be a good way to reimburse your airfare.

Man's Best Friend
Hello All,
Thanks for your help and advises.
I am really scared ........
I have decided not to take anything with me to sell them out in Toronto just for the sake of reimbursement.
Special thanks to DiogenestheCynic. You really open my eyes.
Scorpio.!!!!!
these posts just brings out what it entails to bring stuff to sell. doing this like any other way of making money requires legwork and you have to be prepared.
I heard of a friend carrying dried fishh to europe from mumbai as that had a good market and just a couple of those fish managed to reimburse his airfare. He had of corse established his buyer through a relative out there.
Its quite a unique idea and everywhere u do see indian stuff like elephants and buddha statues and bead chains from colaba causeway selling at 25-40 dollars..so my bet would be its NOT SUCH A BAD IDEA!
