Does anybody know how to send text messages to India using Yahoo messenger?
There is a feature, where you input the phone number, and messenger will try to send the text. But most of the time, my message is returned, saying that phone is not capable of receiving the message.
The HELP section of Yahoo is of no use, as it deals with how to subscribe to the service.
So does the cellphone user needs to subscribe to service to receive the messages? In that case, is it differet from SMS, that is in rage in India?

I am able to send text message to India (mobile). The numbers to which I send are of AT&T Birla (Gujarat). I am not able to send to Reliance Mobile in Gujarat circle. It all depends on the service provider if it is participating in Yahoo service. There is no need for the mobile phone to be hooked to yahoo service while sending a message.

Yahoo, not supported some of the cell phones company so if person can't receive it it's because of that and reliance cell phone get the message through yahoo.

I regularly send SMSs to Indian cell phones thru Yahoo IM. And yes, Yahoo didnt work for Reliance cells though.
Yeah ... Yahoo doesn't work for sms on BSNL mobile even ....
