Position Title: IT SOLUTIONS DEVELOPER (Contract - Full Time)
Report Location: Mississauga (Dixie/Eglinton), ON
Hours: 8:30 - 5:00 M - F
Responsibilities: We are seeking a developer to work on the Smartcard project. As part of this team, the candidate will be working to provide systems solutions to business problems through the design and programming of systems.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop quality solutions for program/system issues consistent with project objectives and client requirements following technology architecture standards. Deliver effective and efficient solutions by meeting key project milestones and overall project deliverables on time, within budget and adhering to development and quality standards.
Conduct program/system research, analysis, design and problem resolution
Test and debug according to test plans, using available/appropriate tools and participate in reviewing peer coding. Monitor and report on results.
Develop, implement, maintain and improve solutions/processes that maximize system availability, efficiency/effectiveness and minimize/prevent problems/issues
Coach, lead, mentor other teams members. Participate in knowledge transfer with the team and business units
Qualifications: 3 years experience with cobol, JCL, IMS/DB2 and mainframe required
Ability to understand and acquire new technical skills
Ability to code, debug and trouble-shoot with minimal supervision
Ability to work in teams and individually
May involve travel between Mississauga and London locations
Excellent communication skills
Good documentation skills
