Hi,
For 'New Free-Hold Homes', what would be the precise reasons for which the prices are higher and also, people prefer a 'Semi-Detached' House compared to an 'End-Unit TownHouse' ?
They are both joined on one-side only. The distance between 2 Semis would be almost the same as between 2 End-Units. (I agree, given a stretch of land there will be less Semis than Townhouses - thereby less cluttered)
What would be the advantages of a 'Semi-Detached' Free-Hold house compared to an 'End-Unit Free-Hold TownHouse' ?
Your reponse is much appreciated.
Thanks & Warm Regards
Shaibal
Prices for Free-hold Townhouses are normally higher, 'cause there is no maintainenance fee involved. I guess the reason people prefer a semi as opposed to a end unit TH, is in a townhouse complex the units are close to each other, where as in a semi there is sufficent gap between two units, now this may not be true for the new semi's. In a semi, you have some privacy, when it comes to the backyard, but in a TH complex that may not be available, depending on wether the backyard is fenced or not.
As far as resale value is concerned, a semi will probably bring in more $ as compared to a TH complex. Now the end-unit will certainly sell for a higher price as compared to the other units in a TH complex.
My 2 cents......
