Hi Everyone,
I am planning to buy my first new home in Canada next year. I wanted to know opinion on Mississauga vs. Ajax. I have seen that prices in Mississauga are quite high with Semi’s around 500’s and towns around 450s-500s. Ajax on the other hand has semis around 380-400k. So clearly Ajax is more affordable and is coming within my comfort range. I can stretch out a little and buy home in Mississauga but yes my monthly mortgage will be 400-500 more, my car insurance will be more etc. But I have my friends in Mississauga etc. I work in downtown and so is my wife and we see us working there in the future as well. So I need your opinion on whether I should stretch out and buy a home in Mississauga? (Mississauga has little more older homes which is a downside for me). I want open concept kitchen etc. or should I buy home in Ajax? The opinion I have heard is Mississauga would have far more appreciation than Ajax and in terms of building equity Mississauga would be the best bet which puts me into dilemma

Apart from monthly mortgage, your property tax, closing cost etc will also be more. But then appreciation would also be more compared to that in Ajax. Again primary living home should not be consider as investment, you know better as you have done mgmt.
First time home buyers have certain benefits such as they can save on land transfer tax, try to take benefit of such.
buy around steeles and mississauga road in brampton 10 mins to go station and nice upscale neighbourhood as well not as expensive as mississauga
