I see different benefits of a Government job:
1) You hardly need to work - and yes if you do, you don't have to work hard.
2) You get paid to gossip, share juicy stories about men and women at work.
3) You can speak with "Paan"in your mouth, ignore tax payers who want work done at your table, yell at them and "play God".
4) You can demand bribes (Also known as "formality", "Something-Something", and line your pocket.
5) You can disappear for "1 hour Chai breaks", ask "permission" to go home early, come home for an early snooze.
6) You can take premature retirement aka "VRS", and spend the rest of your life, talking about those "good old days".
In short, you have a wonderful life, doing nothing. Is ther a better way to lead life?

DISCLAIMER: There are exceptions to every rule, and everything I say.
This is not intended to insult, denigrate or belittle any Government "servant" in India. There is truth in what I say. I go by my decades of living in my "Mahaan Bharat".
Babu-giri Zindabad!

Some time there are some exceptions in life. I worked in a govt. organization where the head of the institution took great care in giving quality service to the public. After his retirement all followed his footsteps. We all worked as best as we could and to our maximum capacity. Whether to do a job in a best way or in a shabby way depends on once nature.
