Hello Friends
I did not see even a single person within last six years who is getting this much salary. I am also an Engineer and working with #1 global company and no one is getting anything near to that. Would you please name some companies who offer these salaries... I would like to join them.
Thanks
Biomed

I am not sure where you are working - Those figures are average figures and may vary from province to province.

In my company - above salary ranges approximately matches with what people are getting.

One more comment I'd like to make here is: when people come to Canada from India the only place on their radar screen is Toronto. Believe me! Canada is not just Toronto!! When you are travelling thousands of kilometers away from India to reach a far-away place you should not get nervous about travelling a few more! Toronto is not the end of the world.

Hi,
Could you tell us, about the type of industries in calgary and alberta in general. Because whilst deciding on which place to go first , it always helps people if they know that they have a fair chance of getting a job in their field of specialization, doen't matter whether there are desis in that area or not.

From Where did you get these Stats. of salary average salary. Exceptions are always there, but as I said I am in the field since last 6 years I have not seen any person getting these salaries. Of course if you are talking about software Engineers, that is a different case altogether.

I do agree that not many companies giving away that handsome salary, but the salry range what he stated is I believe same as Candian govt's set standards. However not many companies offering that salary since ppl (immigrants) willing to take anything in the name of """"FIELD JOB""" until they realise they are getting exploited.

I don't know about all these figures posted. But I do know some desi engrs. who have been here for last 2 yrs and are still doing tough factory jobs and periodic layoffs. some have managed to settle down in Kitchener, Guelph, etc... because they could not survive in GTA as rents are high. Overall, it seems that desi engrs go through a longer rough phase as compared to CAs, MBAs, social workers, IT profs, etc...

I am not sure why we should not belive in this figures:

For example the company I know the salary range for people in one of engineering department (mostly chemical and mechanical engineers)
is ranging from 35,000 to 85,000

Now how much desis are getting there? For example two recent guys (not engineers) are getting 35,000. Few more are getting 50,000 and there are quite a few who got P.Eng are getting 70,000.

So, desis do well!
