Even though i haven't left for Canada yet but i might be leaving in April. I have planned to take my wife along with me not just with job in my mind but also it would be very supportive to have your life partner along in initial difficult time phase. It would be difficult to make friends quickly and also i believe it would increase our success chances if the partner could support you mentally and financially. This could in return keep ones spirits high even at low times.
I have heard that women do get jobs easily as some of the jobs are meant only for females.
But then i guess its a still a say of people who are already living out there.

I totally agree with Manjeet. My personal experiences also validate what Manjeet has mentioned about moral support from ones spouse.
Also My wife found a job sooner than I did. May or may not mean anything.

Jyoti, it depends which field you are talking about. The truth is, that after coming here and not getting any job in their particular field makes wemen to compromise with the situation and they settle for any job, be it in a factory, a cashier at any food store or a departmental store or in a call centre. Men generally are not prepared to adjust with the circumstances and keep on trying to find that elusive job in their field, which they would get only if they are very-very lucky or a 'master' in their field. On and average it takes around 2 years (barring exceptions) to get something in their own field. In the meantime, they also have to look for delivering pizza, do a security guard or work in a call centre or a factory and do certain courses to get the so called 'Canadian qualification' and may have to start from the scratch.

It is advisable to come together so that most of the time you can have each other for moral supprt. However, it would be better if your husband and you do your home work by visiting sites like http://www.monster.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK or http://www.workopolis.com" rel="nofollow">LINK or http://www.dice.com" rel="nofollow">LINK (if either of you is a techie) and learning more about the type of jobs available and the requirements for those jobs. Moreover, these sites would also help you in making a good resume as per Canadian requirements and you can apply for jobs and also post resume there so that companies looking for a person with your qualifications can contact you.
Good Luck.

Hi!
Can u pls suggest me the best money remitance method or agent (like Remit2India, Western Union Money Transfer, Citibank) for remitting money to India.
Is there any maximum limit for remitance in the first year of residence or later?
