Will indian electric equipments work in Canada ?

I'm planning to bring LapTop , HandyCamera [whose charger pins are indian type.]

Do I need to buy convertor ? Please guide

You can use these here, provided you get the correct convertor. If you cant find one in India, you will to buy them here. The price ranges from $8 to $15.

It is advicable to slect the items you wish to bring in though. Camcorder, Laptop is Ok but not the usual electrical appliances at home.. I believe.

Indian voltage and N.American Voltage is different. India use 220V and N. America uses 110V. You should check you laptop and handycam adaptor if it supports 110V . Most of them do. If it does then you need a only a plug converter . You can get in dollar store/dollare biltz for a $1.00.
If you appliance does not support 110V. Then you must buy as Step-down voltage converter. Here it cost from $30-$80 depending upon the watts.
