Anyone know some great shops in New Delhi to buy great (yet fairly inexpensive) desi clothes? I.e.... lehengas, saries, sherwanies, etc.
I'm looking for a budget within Rs.5000 a piece at MOST. But some really unique designs and creations.
Already tried googling these but most sites do not list price OR respond back. (Go figure!) And some others are just incredibly high-priced. $650 USD for 1 sherwani? Come on now!

you'll get good sherwani minimum in Rs.10000 - 15000.
Are you coming to buy in Delhi ?

Ms X..Dont go to Boutiques....go to Lajpat Nagar or Karol Bagh etc....see if you can get hold of workers who work for the designers ...the might design for you on a private basis...if you go to the designers, they will offer you wine, champagne and then will also fleece you in the price....I am sure you will find some eaquisite stuff within Rs.5000 a piece...if you have time before you travel, I can locate some exclusive stores and post it here....but i need time to find out.

10,000/-? Ouch! that's quite much for a sherwani... I've seen some good lengas around 5,000/- and compared to those, a sherwani doesn't have a lot of intricate designs or too different a fabric. Why the high price?

Thanks for the response. No, I am not planning to go to Boutiques or "Showrooms". I think I can definitely survive without having to eat/drink in places I am buying clothes.
I know of Tilak Nagar. I thought shopping was expensive in Karol Bagh?
I will be leaving Feb 9th so hopefully that gives you (and me...) plenty of time to make a hit list.

Hey dont restrict it 2 PMs if possible. There are others also who wud luv 2 know the tit bits of shopping in Dilli esp in this Dilli ki sardi........
BTW for checking saris and lehengas go 2 Chandni Chowk , just ahead of 'parathe wali gali'..... dont forget 2 savour the parathas 
Sarojini Nagar / Lajpat Rai mkt and Karol Bagh wud be good places 2 vst as well.
