Does anyone know of a good course on transact SQL (SQL Server 2005) that does not charge an arm and a leg? I'm looking for a 2/3 day course for one of my resources.
Looked at the curricula of the standard institutes (Trios, CDI, PolarBear), but was wondering if there's a cheaper and better alternative. Like a smaller institute where you can get more for your money.
Would appreciate some feedback if you know of any such institutes.

I don't know of any institutes, but I can tell you that the online help and documentation that comes with it is excellent, as usual from Micro$oft.
There are several samples and Bits available on MSDN from the various conferences, etc.
If you are already a pro with SQL Server 2000 and 3 days is all you got, you may get the best bang for your buck if you just locked yourself in a room for 3 days and worked out this stuff all by yourself.
That's what I would do anyway....
And if your employer is ready to pay for the study, ask them for 3 days of vacation pay instead

I agree. And that's what I would do, but this course is actually for someone on my team (a junior resource)
I think structured training would work better in this case

Check with New Horizons - they are an ATEC and usually come up with new courses pretty fast.
They have at least two locations - one on Hurontario, just south of Brittania and another one in Downtown TO.
How junior is the developer - MSDN has stored webcasts and demos on their websites that can be played back real-time.
It may be a while before the official MOC is released for Yukon.
