Even most of the ppl. who call themselves "positive" agree to the fact that u have to study and start almost from scratch. So how does that provide stability. And if initially neither u have money by having high paying contract jobs or survive and neither stability on a low paying, how does a person justify that.

Are you there?
BL,
This is very true to my feelings!!!

To me, the biggest difference is that you make more money in the states, but you never belong. You're always an outsider. Not so in Canada. You just have to decide whether that feeling is worth the cut in your paycheck and make a choice on where you want to live. And that would hopefully be the best place in the world as far as you're concerned.

I agree with you BL. I am just on the opposite side. People like me who are in their 30s now don't want to again go through that immigration/visa issue, as even though I had an opportunity to move to US, I am deciding not to pursue it.

You'd have to be on H-1 anxiously waiting for your greencard to proceed while constantly worrying about your work permit expiring prior to that to understand what instability in the states is.
I'm not saying I agree with the perm-job / contract analogy, however I've lived in the states and status-wise, you're totally at the mercy of immigration there until you get your greencard. Every time you re-enter from a trip back home and you get a rude-as-hell customs officer, you gotta wonder if he's going to let you in or not.
