hello everyone
I am member of this site from last 1 1/2 yr, and I got many answers to my questions from this site. And for it I am thankful to all you people who are making it a success.
But yesterday while visiting this site regulary I saw the title written on the home page (for the reference please check the title written in top bar of the home page) it states that "Canadian Desi - Leading Community website for South Asians Living in Canada". It just remind me of India, where we people are distinguished by name, religion and caste.
And I thought many of members here must be of northern regions. So do they stand out of this canadian desi community?
I have also seen the pictures at canadian desi, and most of the people there seems to be south indians. so by those pictures it can be assumed that north indians are not invited in those get togethers. Sorry if I am wrong on this issue.
we people have allready left our homeland for better place, but y not we stand unite in the foreign land against all odds?
why dont we say "canadian desi - Leading Community website for all asians Living in Canada". and make it a community standing out for all asians (indians as well as pakistanis, for hindhus, muslims, sikhs, chrisitians). This way we people will grow in number as well as we will be able to help each other in day to day aspects of life in canada.

You are confusing between South Indians and South Asians.

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.

I guess you are confused with the term - South Asians with South Indians.

We said South Asians and Not the SOUTH INDIANS.

The term "South Asian" means people of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldeves and Bhutan.

BTW, since you started this topic - I would like to invite people to comeup with a much better slogan (or slogans).
