Thats cos mercury sahib.. I am an agnostic but I do not advocate killing ppl who "worship" idols... and I certainly do not advocate any religion that "encourages killing ppl if they worship idols or practice other religions"...
Man we should not be having this discussion here... Can you repost your statement on the link given below... It will enable some continuity.

I guess the link does not prove anything that all religions have inherent contradictions in their written word. Probably more so in the monotheistic religions.
However, no scriptures are beyond contradictions including(arguably) rigveda e.g-Sati/caste system etc. Pointing out these contradictions will not make my religion any better.
That apart, would I put the link glorifying sati in my signature? Probably not. Would I put it in a relevant thread(if I ever tried...even if unwillingly... to prove that hinduism had contradictions) instead? Probably. I guess it's a matter of personal judgement as to what is more appropiate and when/where.

Based on your comments you certainly have an axe to grind with some people back home. You want to change their ways. Actually Thats ok.
I couldnt care less what people worshipped and even less would i be bothered to change their ways of living, dying, marrying and divorcing and how they divide their inheritance.

) To answer your point #2 :- I too dont care. To each his/her own. However, if such practices affects me and my lifestyle then I certainly do care.
As for the link... I again repeat, Mercury sahab please go back and check the link just below the other link. There was a discussion going on in that threas between me and another member. I had asked the member abt some claims he made ... If you read the posts, you will see that they are cotradictory... The answers are not specific and they are skewed. Afterall, you cannot have your cake as well and eat it !

No #2 :- I suppose you have not bothered to engage in the other discussion except for posting a few comments here and there. NOtwithstanding that, if you wish to express yourself please do so... This is, afterall a free speech discussion forum. However, I dont think I will fall into your trap of engaging in a discussion abt superiroty of religions. I do not wish to indulge in that. However, when someone makes claims abt any religion, which I feel are not true/inaccurate then I do reserve the right to challenge them...

If your point is that "X religion has contradictions", do you really think that's a revelation? If you dissect any religion (Hinduism included), you find glaring discrepancies, so what's the point in analyzing which ones are more severe?
You made a good point about "context" in the other thread, these words were spoken hundreds of years back and it is upto individuals whether they factor that into their thinking or continue to believe every letter with absolute conviction. But now you're really making it sound like you have an "axe to grind", borrowing mercury's words.
Its funny that you're pointing everyone to the other thread while you have this in your signature that appears on every single unrelated post of yours. What's this site going to look like if everybody started putting their pet peeves in their signatures? You've made your point on the other thread and this is just dragging it now, I suggest you remove it.
