I have years of experience in HR (hiring people) and even though I am not in that field, I couldn't resist to give you advice regarding looking for \"any job\". I understand that you are willing to work hard, but in order to find something, you have to indicate what can you do. If you say \"any job\" you have no chance. You are expected to present your skills and education first.
I worked for number for large corporations (not Government) and was in charge of selecting applicants for interviews. After advertising for particular position, receiving hundreds of Resumes, sorting them in YES, MAYBE and NO not only by experience, education, but also by look of Resume (clean?, well organised, easy to read, no typing mistakes) five candidates were selected for interview with HR. From from those two or three were selected for second interview with HR and Manager of Department.
After winning candidate was selected, rest of the resumes were kept for future and next available jobs were not advertised, but applicants were chosen from filed resumes. Some people also mail their Resumes to companies they would like to work for. These Resumes are called unsolicited Resumes, but they are filed in just as same and will be used when appropriate jobs is available. In most companies they kept resumes sorted out by Categories i.e. Administrative, Web Design, Cleaners, Security, etc. AND then there was file called OTHERS for those who did not indicate what they are looking for. All files were kept for 6 months only, but during that time they were really used when jobs became available.
Please note that in my 25 years of experience in Human Resources nobody ever used file \"Others\".
I hope that this information will help you with your job search and that you will find satisfactory job soon.
Good luck
