Success is a state of mind.

DT,
The Author himself says that it is NOT a sucess story but only a sense of accomplishment i.e. Canadian Passport. Maybe it would be sucess for you if you had the same qualifications and experience as him and wanted the 40K salary
Would you leave USA for Canada for a 40K salary?
Sucess is a state of mind. Obviously for him (the author) the 40K was not enough.

I would say the story is truly inspiring. Its defenetly a success story I would say. As desiTiger told "success is a state of mind". One can't be happy even if he makes millions. May be he is not getting the salary he is capable of. But he is Happy with what he makes now. And I am sure this guy will go places with his attitudes.

The story gives a better picture and out look required for a prospective immigrant and surely it make them positive in their decision.

TK,
This man is in a profession which does not require him to climb roof tops or do any circus activities. 40K is not a bad amount to start with a new life in Canada.
And Yes, still outside world fall on their feet to accept a America returned in the workplace. This person will find a good opening if decides to return back. He / She is doing good in my opinion. Relatively successful........

It depends on which perspective you look at it from : It may not be a success story, but from which aspect? What was the author trying to do that he didn't accomplish? What other things WAS he able to do in the course of his attempts to "succeed"?

Your question to me about leaving US for Canada is flawed, it ASSUMES that money is a motivational factor for everybody to immigrate :D Remember what I said about assuming? ;)
