TK is ahead of me in thie category, but I am posting a new topic as it does not deal with selling ornaments
Does anybody have any idea about gold certificates? Scotiabank sells them - you can buy them in lieu of real gold bar.
Two questions
(1) From the description, it looks like it is dealt in same way like IVP in India. There is no ownership printed on those certificates. So if you lose them, they are gone
(2) I am not sure, if the value of certificate is equivalent to the price of gold on any particular day.
Any further information will be helpful

Looks like a nice idea.
Please look at the commissions involved and so on.
Gold is sold just like a stock on the stock exchange (Introduced a month back). So try to see which one is better.
Also try to see if your RRSP can be invested in mutual fund solely investing in Gold futures/price. Alternatively Uranium is also very bullish.
