When I was in the middle east, I bought 24 carat gold in coin form or waht rthey call machine made ring. Anything machine made has a very low making charges.

Then when I go to India, I would pick the jewelley and exchange my gold coins for the jewellery either ready or custom made and pay only the making charges.

Can we buy these 24k gold coins 4m the ME and sell them @ Toronto at market price and w/o any 15% loss criterion .......... ??

Gold(bullion) market worldwide is same,when it comes to buying gold (NOT ornaments), and there is no significant difference, where you buy. except for dealer's margun etc, the prices are same everywhere.

On the other ornament's price do vary a lot, because of finishing, labour and distribution costs.

So will you be gaining anthing with gold coins sale?

The gold price is increasingly rapidly........Money converted in gold may reap good return when sold after 1-2 years in the meantime providing for funds saving ..... I wonder whether jewellers ever incur losses ??

Well that is good with an investment point of view.
you previous post gave an impression of a direct buy/sell concept, so I thought it is not worth the effort.

Jewellers do this business in bulk and they buy huge amounts of gold when the prices are down and stock it up and I think they have their own markets for this.

The retail market or coins etc come directly from the Mints.
Even most of the Banks sell these coins/buiscuits.
So ....

but you are right is one of the best investment lines these days.
