Did anybody see any sites included in doors open event?
I went to see CBC, but was quite disappointed. Only thing they did was to take us upto 12th floor and show some empty sets. They did not give any information unless specifically asked for. The radio section was bit better, as the guy showed us how they recorded radio plays.
I wanted to see 1 King St, but there was a long lineup on the footpath.
I also saw Osgoode Hall. Beautiful
I then went to cityhall, but I was too tired. There was a long lineup to go inside the mayors office.
I saw very few desis. I saw few Gujarati families near City Hall. But a huge portion of visitors were Chinese.

We visited the Black creek village. there were about 40 or so 'heritage homes' all restored the way life was 150 yrs ago. It was a learning experience. To imagine how life used to be back then and how people lived on so little...how they used the natural resourses. and how cooking was done. Everything was made in the village ,for the village people. it was very insightful. The guides were very informative, cheerful and friendly...even though they were dressed in the attire of the 1800's (it was a hot day).

Black Creek Pioneer Village is located in Toronto's north-west at 1000 Murray Ross Parkway (near the intersection of Steeles Avenue and Jane Street).
It took us approx 40 mins to get there from downtown toronto. Yes it is very close to York univ.
http://www.blackcreek.ca/ - u'll get all the info here. It is open on other days but there is a fee.
It is a good place to visit.

On other days there is a fees of $ 12 per person and $ 6 for parking.
Hi,
I went to the Cadbury chocolate factory last weekend. They said that the doors were open only on the previous weekend and they didn't let us in. Big Disappointment!!!
