Nice to know that it worked out Ani.
For your cdesi account inbox.. after you login on the left you should see 'home', 'profile' etc. Of you click on one of these you will see 'My Messages' where you'll find your inbox. This is where the posts go if one clicks on the 'msg' button under each post on this forum. I have described one way to get to the inbox, there may be others. Anyone?

Once you've logged on to Canadiandesi, go to the main Charcha page and scroll all the way down. Its at the bottom of the page, in between the "Ask the expert" and the "Most popular posts" sections.

Montreal case is Solved !!!

GG,
Have a Q for you ... how are you dealing with old articles? What do you do with them? ... I mean, do you Delete them? Archive them? ... ... ... ?

This time round I was good enough grab that MSN DesiMontreal Link and store it ... but I know, in past I have missed some articles which could be really useful in future (Like some of the Masood's reply). I know, I can always come back here and post it again but that's dumb !!!

Just a curiosity ... what do you do with old stuff?

Hi jake,
I was able to buy a new 2004 car in Toronto as I got a good deal and driving it myself all along till Montreal next week. Also managed to get a auto insurance in Ontario based on my US DL.Could you please tell me
(1)Official website of Quebec MTO office ..I want to check the document requirement for transfering US DL to Quebec DL .Someone was telling me that I need to show my proof of residence in Quebec before I apply for
exchanging my DL and MTO only accept utility/phone bill as proof of residence and apartment lease agreement won't be acceptable .If that is true then I need to wait for atleast one month for getting my Quebec DL which I want to avoid
(2Some Good auto insurance company name in Quebec as I need to get a new insurance there in Montreal as in Toronto auto insurance is extremely high

Wish all a Merry Christmas

Regards

ani,
You have 3 months to change your license/plates to quebec ones. I came here from TO too. So you can come here and do the necessary changes. It takes approx 1-2 hrs to get the quebec lic. Same thing with your health card. You've got 3 months. Atleast it was 3 months 5 yrs ago. Dont think that would have changed. However you will have more than a month for sure. Here's the english part of the societe's site but theres not much, you can get the phone #'s though.

About insurance companies... you can come here and do the research. It will be cheaper in Montreal. If your current company has branches in Montreal they will reduce your rates. Anyways it is not difficult to get a few quotes from different companies over the phone. Call me when you get here and I can give you a few #'s
