247apartment.com is a rental search website across USA/Canada and I got a apartment in Chicago within 2 days time using their service hope to get a similar service im Montreal also ...but at this point of time am more worried about my initial 7-10 days temporary accomodation in Montreal

I visited Montreal last summer, it really was good. 4-5 days are not good enough.
I had done some search ... and I think, Motels in Laval are cheap. Geographically, I don't know how far is this place from your office.
I was at Lido ... and later on, after coming back to toronto, I found out that the place is a bit dicy. Jake might have better idea about it & surroundings.

laval is a bit further away from where you want to be. Its off the island of Montreal. Accomodation is cheaper there than on the island so its your call. Any way, by car its not that much of a distance. Considering that you are coming in the peak of the holiday season 70-80 cdn maybe a good bargain. Heres a place that is quite close to ville-st laurent..it'll cost you about 85$/night however.

Like I said I do not know anyone who has used motels and such temp accomodations. I'm working from home this cpl of days...i'll check with some more folks on monday.

Yes I got one reply from Puneeta but not able to contact him over phone till now ..so little bit worried.Anyway I'll apprecaite if you can check up from your end regarding short term accomodation in Montreal area.Also I'll appreciate if you could let me know about any good Honda dealer (Desi is also OK) around Montreal ..I am looking for 2003 ZERO mileage or 2004 new Honda Civic 4Dr AT sedan

Thanks a lot for introducing me to MontrealIndian forum.Today evening one member called me up and helped me out in finding a apartment close to her area.Nicest part is she referred me to the leasing officer and that lady confirmed me that apartment right over phone without checking anything !!!!I am starting for Montreal on Dec 31st and surely will contact you
