Hi,
I am a bit confused of the new rule for residence matter,
going by the old posts i figure out that its a 2 -5 year rule, 2 years (730 days)in canada out of 5 , but in one message its given as 1095 days.
How many days can one stay out of canada in 5 years.
Thanks
Hi,
You can go through the following link.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/skilled/after-3.html
It's 2 years out of every 5 year period.
so i believe as the link says 2 out of 5 years is the new rule. so should forget the 1095 days rule then ?
To keep the residency you have to stayed here in Canada 2 years in 5 years.
To apply for citizenship - you must have stayed in Canada for 1095 days during last 5 years.
