Hi, May17,06.
I landed in Toronto,Canada on 18th May 2005.
Now,as per rules the 5yr period is:- 18thMay2005 to 18thMay2010.
The Canada gic.government rule states,
"You must accumulate two years of physical presence in Canada in every five-year period."
Now,
this means,in the period from 18thMay2005-18thMay2010,I have to be in Canada for ONLY two years,
between 18thMay2005-18thMay2010???
or
the 183 days rule, whereby in the period from 18thMay2005 -18thMay2010,
I can be away from Canada only for 183 days in a year?
How does one calculate the year, from the date of being away from Canada or date of landing?
Also, what is the 720 days rule?
Pl.inform/suggest/advice.
Thanks,
caprico

There is no 183 day rule requirement after 2002 June. Just 2 out of 5 days rule
