SHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen closed higher on continued institutional interest with financial stocks and steelmakers in demand, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A- and B-shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed up 68.61 points, or 2.15 pct, at 3,252.60, a new closing high, after moving between 3,196.59 and 3,253.44.
Does India follow suit? You bet- but in the opposite direction. BSE down a staggering 600 points!

The FTSE/Xinhua China A 50 Index was up 295.13 points at 11,542.77. The FTSE/Xinhua China A 200 Index was up 200.88 points to 8,210.47 and the FTSE/Xinhua China A 600 Index was up 169.98 points at 7,225.25.

China A-shares close higher; key index at new record finish

SHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen closed higher on strong fund inflows with property and machinery stocks gaining ground, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A- and B-shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed up 38.70 points, or 1.19 pct, at 3,291.30, a new closing high, after moving between 3,251.52 and 3,292.58.
Turnover rose to 107.14 bln yuan from 93.30 bln in the previous session.
The Shanghai A-share Index was up 40.73 points or 1.19 pct at 3,459.46 on turnover of 106.62 bln yuan and the Shenzhen A-share Index was up 11.69 points or 1.33 pct at 893.57, also a fresh record high, on turnover of 57.39 bln yuan.
The FTSE/Xinhua China A 50 Index was up 119.88 points at 11,662.65. The FTSE/Xinhua China A 200 Index was up 107.38 points to 8,317.85 and the FTSE/Xinhua China A 600 Index was up 96.81 points at 7,322.06.

SHANGHAI (XFN-ASIA) - A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen closed slightly higher with auto and machinery stocks gaining further ground, even as profit taking emerged to trim the upside, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A- and B-shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed up 0.24 points, or 0.01 pct, at 3,291.54, a new closing high, after moving between 3,266.56 and 3,308.15.
Turnover rose to 113.26 bln yuan from 107.14 bln in the previous session.
The Shanghai A-share Index was up 0.05 points at 3,459.51 on turnover of 112.75 bln yuan and the Shenzhen A-share Index was up 9.51 points or 1.06 pct at 903.08, a fresh record, on turnover of 59.75 bln yuan.
The FTSE/Xinhua China A 50 Index was up 59.15 points at 11,721.80. The FTSE/Xinhua China A 200 Index was up 61.93 points to 8,379.78 and the FTSE/Xinhua China A 600 Index was up 58.99 points at 7,381.05.

CHINA
A-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen closed slightly higher despite a hike in the bank reserve ratio announced by the central bank yesterday, with property and metal stocks buoyed by capital inflows. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed up 4.45 points at 3,323.59. The Shanghai A-share Index was up 4.59 points to 3,492.96 and the Shenzhen A-share Index was up 13.29 points at 929.39. B-shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen closed higher, tracking A-share gains, with blue chips remaining in demand. The Shanghai B-share Index was up 0.86 points to 186.51 and the Shenzhen B-share Index was up 1.16 points at 539.54.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A- and B-shares listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, closed up 75.37 points, or 2.27 pct, at 3,398.95, a new all-time closing high, after moving between 3,333.26 and 3,399.52.

SHANGHAI, China — Chinese stocks rose to a record high close for a seventh straight session on Tuesday, as blue chips surged on strong earnings expectations. The yuan rose against the U.S. dollar.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 1.3 percent to 3,444.29. The Shenzhen Composite Index rose 1.2 percent to 918.66.
"Strong earnings forecasts from blue-chip companies are boosting overall sentiment and blue chips will remain strong on hopes the regulators will soon launch the stock index futures," said Chen Huiqin, an analyst at Huatai Securities.
