I live in an area where residents have all moved to other countries for employment and hence I was able to get it without any crowd hassles.
I used my canadian passport for photo identity and bank account for proof of local residence. So it is actually very simple. Other proof of address include ration card, DL, voter Id card, land line bill, water bill etc..
I downloaded the forms from Aadhaar website. Not that Aaddhaar has been outsourced to a private company. Also I went to the corporation office (which has provided a room for Aaddhaar).
I heard that in Trichy Tamil nadu, they donot accept the down loaded forms and unless you bribe the corporation officials for a form and then they send you to meet the councellor of your area to get a sign off. So it depends on your area.

The Indian mission in the US has started the process of inviting bids to replace BLS.

Hope they do the same here in Canada and replace BLS with another much more reliable agency.
