Hello There,
I am a self employed person(Incorporated) here. My wife is a house wife since last 10 months. (she was working before that). We wanted to sponsor my wife's mother. Can someone please advise how to proceed.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated.
Thanks a lot

Greetings Anup
I am sure there are lots of posts on this since this is a common question.
The cic.gc.ca website has all the information you need about the forms
Others can correct me if I am wrong, your mom-in-law would have to fill an application form and a document checklist with supporting documents for finance / photos etc and drop it at one of the VFS centers in India.
She could also opt to go to Delhi and submit it directly at the consulate

Hi Anup,
Information given by bombamma is not accurate. VFS centers do not deal with permanent residency cases.
Your wife will have to sponsor her mother with you as the co-signer if income of you and your wife jointly meets the financial requirements( you can search this forum for the figures) . You need to send this application to CPC Mississauga and they take about 3 1/2 tears ( normal waiting period is 29 months as of now , but it takes longer for verification of self-employed cases) to give the approval. Then the file gets transferred to your mother-in-law's country's CHC and there could be a waiting of about 1 year there for medicals etc.

Thanks Vijay..
That was quite relevant. Issues I have further is My wife is also not working at this moment. Although she is a 20% share holder in my Incorporation, she is not being paid any monthly salary.
I would like to know how this can be worked out,, as my incorporation income surely matches the required numbers.
Thanks again for all your replies.

As long as the combined income of your spouse (sponsor) and you (co-signor) is above the threshold, you will qualify. Why don't you call up CIC call center and get the clarifications you need?
