Hi All
I am a new immigrant who has just been approved in Jan 2004.
I work in the US on a H1B visa.
I plan to visit canada this month to complete my first time formalities
ie apply for a PR , SIN card.
I plan to do this in 2 days and then return to my job in the US
I will be giving my cousins address canada for PR card mailing purposes
My question is
1) Is the 2 day stay sufficient or is there a mandatory stay of 1 month.
2) Will there be any negative effect if i leave the country without the PR card.
3) Any finer points ..like the things to carry..speak to the immigration officers there etc?
thank u all in advance
Sheela
Well I really don't know what rule says, but some of my friends left the country within a week of their landing. Of course after applying for PR Card ( it is done at the point of entry), SIN, Drivers Licence. health card and bank account.
Thanks and regards
Biomed

Hi, I just returned to US after getting my PR and SIN cards in Canada. Unlike the 4 weeks that they say it takes to get the PR card, I got both PR and SIN in 12 days flat.
I know 8 or 10 other immigrants who came with me and got thier PR cards in mail within 12-15 days.
