My PR application process started in september 2002 from canadian embassy in Paris., expected to finsh the processing in an years time, when i was in India. But it went on in progress till this month2007 ,and now decided to grand me PR visa.; almost i have forgotten about it:D .
Many views and priorities about life changed, now i am not in a position to relocate immediately; atleast for an year more.so i have decided to keep my PR status alive; mean time i can plan to relocate.

Now i am empoyed in Abudhabi; i wated to know how many days are minimum needed for all the offical formalties / paper work ,after landing in canada(ontario) and come back. ( no plans of leisure / holiday tour, if additonal days are needed)

Embassay in Paris, have just intimated me to send mine&family passports for visa stamping and that visa will be only be valid till october 7th 2007, as we did medical last year october. i.e. I have only 4 months for all the preprations. i belive sending passports and return will take 1 month atleast. paris embassy will not send passports to UAE,after visa stamping; only to canada or some europe addreses.

kindly, guide me to plan a minimum days stay in canada and return, after completeing all official formalities. i have some third party contact addresses in canada, which i can use for my communication ( PR card might take 1 month minimum).

somebody, kindly guide me with comprehensie information & trip planning.

thanks and regards,

Biju

You can land and go back next day if you want and use your friends address to get PR card. As you don't need SIN until you want to stay and work in Canada.

As you said, i dont need SIN card as i am not planning to stay or work immedietly;but can i apply later, after i permanently comes?- no question why i didnt apply before? or is there any problem if i apply for SIN card after landing itself, given a local address. anyway i think i can easly plan for a weeks stay in canada and do all the possible work.

kindy suggest some suitable place of accomodation ( economical) for me, wife and child for around 10 days of stay.which should be convienient for transportation, and their email contacts.

regards,
biju

Hello Biju,

I would suggest apply for the SIN card as well. It wouldn't take too long and you can use the same mailing address as that of the PR card.
Even if you don't work now its best to have it done as you do the formalities on PR.

As for stay, many info on this site is available if you do a search. I would recommend go through them and then make a decision.

Note: you will also need to have the goods to follow list too.

Good luck on your travel.

hello jonny,
thank you very much for your realistic and helpful reply. while being there,i wanted to utilise the time the best way possible and maximum ground work for the future; including a preliminary job survey.
and i dont have an excess dollar earned to be wasted; means i might have just the qualifying amount to carry while landing there. and wish to bring it back after the expenses there.
to bring the fund back while coming, which is the best way to carry from here? by cash, dd, or travel cheque? similary is there any issues to be noted while opening an bank account there, or is it neccessary to open an account if we are not residing there, or does that account could help us anyway in future. as i ve said, plan to migrate only after an year.
some body please, who know about it and have done this answer me.

i will do as you 've suggested to read and , yes there are lot of information here on the site.

thanks a lot.
regards,
biju
