Suggest this forum get to do something constructive rather than just pouring advises which really doesn't help anybody.
What a new immigrant looks forward to is a Job to start with and rest he or she will get to know by virtue of time.
\"Networking\" -why not it initiate here too.

What gives you an idea that giving advice is not constructive itself ?

Immigrants and prospective immigrants will be better of understanding the system prevalent in Canada through first hand experiences and through experts advices than by just reading the booklets on what to do.

As for the networking part, I personally have been able to know a lot of people here and others will echo my opinion in this regards.

Canada Desi community has organized get together events for the sole purpose of networking, and people have traveled long distances to be a part of something constructive even experts have done the same (Massood traveled from Vancouver to Toronto just to be a part of the gathering).

As for finding jobs for new immigrants, the forum has been educating new immigrants, there are articles here that guide you in job search and what things to consider when approaching an employer.

Now Its our responsibility to learn from other experiences and don't make the same mistakes that others have.

Chandaresh has always been very vocal of his experiences and its because of him that we are learning a lot, GG has been administering the form very well, Jake3d has invested a lot of his time to give his experience. Massood has been to the point in his expert replies.

GG is currently working on an online system to make possible the points that we discussed at the meeting. As you can imagine co-ordinating things like this on a volunteer basis is a challenge in itself. We want to make sure we have a good structure in place first. Stay tuned for announcements from GG

If we could provide jobs right away upon landing, you would see it on this forum first. In the meantime, we do everything else possible to prepare make the experience of the new immigrant as painless as possible. That in itself is immense help & saves the immigrant a lot of heart-ache and disappointment. Just ask an immigrant who never had any kind of advice.

Besides, there's a JOBS section here. You will see in the days/weeks to come, this site is gearing up to be the best that 'FREE' can buy. Short of providing THE job, this site and its members provide everything else.

Please appreciate it ... & welcome to the healthy debate. If only you knew how much time people [volunteers] devote to this site.
