Hi, I am interested about knowing more in trading stocks, I am not experienced in investing, but my personal experience in investing RRSP through bank funds is not too good, RRSP saving is decreasing day by day, so thought why dont manage "MY MONEY, MYSELF ?" I am doing study on internet and I came across some penny stocks that goes up by 50% in a week time, I know it will not true always, but nothing wrong starting with small investment and gradually build up portfolio. I bet there must be gurus of stock market in our Canadaian Desi team who are ready to share their knowledge with fellow friends. So we can start this discussion group from scratch like first which brokerage firm to choose and then post regularly advise on good value/penny stocks and time to buy and sell and technical analysis education and stuff...
So I will be waiting for someone to comment on this....
By the way PALR stock is good penny investment at present selling around 0.014 and market is saying definately going up to 0.4
Best Luck...............................

"post regularly advise on good value/penny stocks and time to buy and sell and technical analysis education and stuff..."

Be careful posting advise/recommendation on specific stocks without proper license spoecially with penny stocks. If I recall correctly, couple of years ago Ontario securities regulators took someone to court and fined who was giving out stock recommendations w/o license.

In my experience, penny stocks are wrong way to start out learning stock investing. They don't have enough liquidity - there has to be someone to buy the stock if you want to sell it and vice-versa. Low liquidity also results in wild swings in pricing.

My advise: Find quality companies, buy few stocks or do mock up stock trades on TSE, NYSE, NASDAQ, AMEX. Stay away from penny stocks.

Dear AnilKG,

Sorry for posting on this thread. I am eager to get the contact of that student who is enrolled in UoT, from 2003 batch. Its very urgent, as I need to collect some important information regarding the grad studies admission. I would appreciate if you can forward his/her contact to me.

I checked the registered users on the group and found Marut Singh, whom I know from IITD Civil and 2003 passout. If he is the one, please share with me his contact. Or please ask him to write to me at It would be really helpful. Thanks a lot.

Waiting for your reply,
Ateet

Use the email address in Contact Us section of IIT Alumni Canada website to make your request. I am not in direct contact with any of the individuals you mentioned.

If you know the name of the person at UofT, you can always find the contact information through Directory on UofT website.
