Hi guys,
I was just wondering how many of you are teenagers and how many have teenage children or hang out with teenagers?
As a guest lecturer I go to schools and sometimes I don't understand the lingo nowadays.
I often hear "fade like bleach"- Like "my Mom fades like bleach" supposed to mean my Mom is very dependable.
Also words like dank= awesome
gnar= cool in a wierd way. Many high school kids refer to me as being "gnar"
bunk= bad, bummer.
Do any of you come across people who use these words regularly?
It's so "dank" to hear this new teen lingo.
Then I teach them things like " I flash on it" meaning "I like it" (which suprisingly many haven't heard)
and "grody to the max" - meaning a real bummer (also suprisingly many haven't heard)
Teaching them all that 70's and 80's slang has gained me the moniker "gnar".
Man, this is spaced out!(That- spaced out- by the way is archaic for them).
Feedback please? Maybe some other words you folks hear that are unusual for us
