Hi there, iv heard that all schools in mississauga are good n have good standards . We are in the process of looking fpor an apartment in square one area, and while generally looking around we came to hear some real reviews and experinces of people regarding schools some said that paisley boulevard is not safe neighbourhood. N so goes floradale school, while we were looking at fair view public school some one said the school was not good. - why? - it is too crowded and kids are very mean - no personalized attention given! Now who to believe how to find out before we confirm on our accomdation, time is running out. I need real personal reviews com all of you with regards to your kids schools u put them in. I still prefer squEe one area - but need Advice on good school.

Very interesting topic.

I'm responding to this based on the second post by Hamzay goading CD for reviews.

Let us look at this problem top down.

If your kid goes to Flordale then he/she has to go to TLK for high school.

If your kid goes to Corsair and then Camilla your kid has to go to Port Credit for high school.

Newsflash:

The highest marks in Port Credit was 97% and NOBODY got into McMaster for Health Sciences.

The area of Paisley/HWY 10 is full of recent Islamic immigrants coming all the way from Pakistan/Afghanistan/Lebanon and other countries. If you go to the Floredale park you'll see more Muslims in one evening than you would have seen all your life.

If you are Islamic then it is an advantage as your kids will keep their identity. If you are not then you'll be the odd person there.

If you move towards SQ ONE then your kids can go to the schools there in places like Valley qnd further to Father Gates for example. There your kids have to wear UNIFORM.

Have you seen girls with skirts and stockings in bus stops?.

Any school in Mississauga you will be amazed to see more muslim students than others. In todays Missississauga and some parts of peel regions Islam is the Majority religion and also Pakistanis are the majority nationality of origin. This has been reflected in the recent Federal elections.

If I were you I'll prefer someother place than Mississauga as I would like to raise my children Canadian and NOT a religion based person.

When I landed in Canada and when my 3 year old went out to play in the Bloor region the first question the other kids of similar age asked my kid was are you a Muslim?.

Religion was never a part of my life UNTIL I landed in Canada and from there I see religion everywhere in Mississauga, Canada.

Guys, the views of above poster is full of hate and prejudice. If you look back at his previous posts most of them are communal spewing venom.

Mississauga is not just Hwy 10 and paisley or floredale park. What is wrong if Muslims come to stay in a particular area just like sikhs stay in Brampton or tamils in Scarborough. Most areas of Mississauga are still multicultural and most Schools are good.

I think the best way to choose a school is by its results comparable to other schools at the provincial level. See http://www.eqao.com/
If the school is doing well it is likely that the teachers are good, the children/parents are more motivated and the overall emphasis of the school is on a good level of education.

I am sure you can appreciate that people are not likely to tell you which school they send their kids to unless they know you well as it is a security hazard for the child/family.

Let me make it clear i dont have kids and am not affected by this in any way..

But i have a feeling you dont have kids either hence have no idea about what goes on in the schools..

Let me give u a true example..

One of my friends is a hindu, his kid goes to a school in brampton.. the sikh kids bully him because he is not a sikh...

Another friend left Scarborough because his kid a non tamil was bullied in the school. He moved to some part of Mississauga and is very happy

Such events are common occurrence in most of the schools even though the rating of the school may be very high.. hence finding residence near schools ur kids can adjust to is very important.

In india we were all used to having ppl of all religions in our class and we used to get along with one another because we were not taught religion in our homes.

Here people lose their identity and then start trying to regain it by searching for their religion and this in turn is passed on to their kids..
