Hi everyone,
Has anyone heard about Boutique condos in Downtown To. I dont know much about the To market.
They are located at 129 Simcoe st, just opp to upcoming Shangrila. Prices are high.
Was wondering if this is a good investment for 2 BH- approx $ 425000. If I buy that would be for LT invest. Is this a good time to be in the market esp with recvession in US looming?

I personally avoid most condos in Downtown due to their large capital investment. You can get the same rate of return on condos in other parts of the GTA (South Etobicoke, Square 1 Mississauga area) with half the amount of initial capital outlay with the same percentage gains in return. Renting is easy and appreciation in value has been quite decent in these areas.
Condos outsold homes in the GTA last year for the first time, due to the high prices of freehold homes in the city. Since the younger generation prefer to live in the city they are the ones scooping up the majority of the condos. The investors are speculating a lot on the market to continue to flourish. A prime example is the condos at 1 Bloor where the units started at $500K
