All those who come from the era of Famous Five heres a good news..its being recreated and the group is going to be led by an Indian Jo( short for Jyoti) !!!

Sixty six years after British author Enid Blyton unveiled her Famous Five series before adoring children the world over, the fictional adventurers have been updated for a new generation and with a new leader - Jo , an Anglo-Indian.

Revived by Disney as television cartoons and books, the members of the new Famous Five are children of the original five created in 1942 - team leader Julian , Dick , George , Anne and the dog Timmy .

Reminds me of the days when it used to be a craze ...my brother actually worked hard in his grade 6 to score more than 80% so he could get the bike as in Famous Five!
Bas yaaden reh jaati hain!
Enjoy!

Yeah, I can 'member famous Five and Kirrin Cottage and the tomboy George.
Also read the Malory Towers Series and the Secret Seven series.

Good stuff in them days.

Like 'hazaar' years ago. way back in the 60's.

Wasn't there also a lovable Bobby and Fatty in there somewhere?

Yup.
Have been an Avid reader of the Famous Five in the early 80's. I read almost all of the 21 adventures that came out and I still long to read it once more (provided it is available in Ontario Libraries). I used to sleep with a toy gun (looked real though) under my pillow so that I could shoot the bad guys if at all a real situation like theirs came up (though the Famous Five never used Guns but more so their wit) . It goes on to show how attached I was to stories like that.
I was in a similar situation (like HelloG's brother) in 1983 when I saw some new books of the Famous Five, which had come for sale in an african bookstore and my dad told me to choose between either some books of the famous Five or a mountain bike and I choose the later but then felt that I should have chosen the former.
I have also read some adventures of the secret seven but somehow it was a bit childish (When compared to the Famous Five) even at the age 11.
On a related note , Wonder how many CD's enjoyed TinTin and Asterix & Obleix? I still read these, borrowed from the libraries of Ontario.
